Portland Mayday Protest And March Turns Into A Riot
In typical Portland Oregon fashion, what liberals call a “peaceful protest” has once again turned into a riot. Happy Mayday from Portland!
The rally started out peaceful enough with your typical intermingling of social justice warriors, AntiFa, communists, socialists, union reps, immigration advocates, and more.
How It All Started
The festivities started peaceful enough with natives, hispanics, and white people all dancing around to the same music that is played every year at multiple events. I just want to add one thing here that I have personally gone to many pow wows and rendezvous. This dance and music that they are playing, is unlike anything I have ever heard before. Maybe I’m just being cynical here, but it just seems a little fake to me. You be the judge!
Another group soon marched down from Portland State University chanting:
An Injury To One Is An Injury To All!
If anyone knows what that means, please, comment below! I couldn’t help but go straight to the 3 Musketeers: All For One And One For All! Then of course it made me hungry because a 3 Musketeers bar is delicious!
Even making things interesting, AntiFa brings in some homemade floats that they called an “AntiFa Trojan Horse” that you have to see to believe.
The Trouble Starts – Who Ya Think Started It?
Yep! You read that right! The Portland Police Bureau was confiscating improvised shields as well as long, sturdy flag poles that could be used as weapons. Of course, AntiFa thought that was a complete and total injustice.
Following a few interactions with Portland police, other people started coming in to talk with AntiFa. This included a kid who was handing out Pepsi’s to everyone.
Shortly before the march was to begin, AntiFa and others started holding up their signs. You have to check these out. Unbelievable what some of these say.
Bout Halfway Done With The Signs! I Promise!
The March Begins
The Mayday march started out peaceful enough with each section chanting various chants that we have all heard countless times before.
However, it did not take long before AntiFa started causing trouble with the Police and the press. They started throwing Pepsi cans, water bottles, rocks, and shooting projectiles from a slingshot at police and people recording them. They also would link arms to attempt to stop police with bicycles from walking alongside the group.
The next video is the same situation but with the whole picture.
Portland Police was aware of the growing threat to their officers who were not geared to withstand projectiles being hurled at them and pulled the bicycle officers out of the situation.

The Riot Begins
Feeling emboldened after the bicycle officers left the line, the AntiFa crowd started throwing objects at windows and buildings. Once they encountered officers in riot gear, they aimed their attacks at them.
Below is the full length live stream of the Portland Riot by yours truly.
During the riot itself, we had projectiles thrown through windows, graffiti, and other damage.
The rioters also started a bonfire with practically anything they could find.
The funniest thing about this fire? The vast majority of these hypocrites were marching a couple days before this for Climate Change. Good to see their hypocrisy wasn’t just isolated to what they did at Standing Rock North Dakota huh?
The rioters tore two windows out of a Target store and attempted to throw a flare inside of the building. Shortly after the Target incident, they can be seen destroying a Portland Police SUV, also attempting to light it on fire.
The Final Results
The whole event ended with 25 people getting arrested, on charges ranging from arson to assault, criminal mischief and theft. All 25 suspects were cited for failing to obey a peace officer, and police said the arrests will be reviewed for additional charges. Three minors, ages 17, 17, and 14, were among those arrested (full list of names and charges in the hyperlink above). All three were charged with riot and released to their parents.
Mayor Ted Wheeler released a statement the following day about the incident.
“In Portland we respect peaceful protest, but we do not and cannot support acts of violence and vandalism,” Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said Tuesday morning. “That’s not political speech. That’s crime. Last night was another chapter in a story that has become all too familiar in Portland: Protests that begin peacefully but devolve quickly due to the actions of those whose only desire is to damage people and property,”
Portland Police Chief Mike Marshman also had something to say on the subject.
“Unfortunately, yesterday, like we’ve seen in the past, a small group of folks hijacked a lawfully permitted event, and almost instantly started doing crimes and committing vandalism, breaking windows and setting things on fire. So, an unfortunate turn of events yesterday for the city of Portland.”

The Moral Of The Story
All across this nation, from Berkeley to Chicago, and from Portland to Paris; AntiFa has been known to incite riots, cause property damage, assault people, and more. Yet, municipalities continue to let them march. I understand freedom of speech and I will support it to the very end. But, where does the line between Free Speech and Domestic Terrorism meet?
